Our prices are changing. Can we tell you why?

Bayside Grooming Co. has been in operation since 2018, and in that time, if you’re familiar with our brand, you would know that we pride ourselves on creating products using premium natural ingredients without compromising on performance or the  planet. In our 4 years of operation we have continually innovated and formulated new products to ensure that customers are receiving the highest quality products that can proudly sit on your bathroom shelf, or barbershop display, to use day-after-day.

Bearing that in mind, we’re  a small family-owned business sitting in a large marketplace. For Bayside to continually set the standard for natural grooming products, we face our own set of unique challenges. We have realised that the future of Bayside can only continue if we address the inevitable of any growing business. It is time for us to correct our profit margins.

Bayside Grooming Co. will be adjusting product prices, as of July 1, 2022.

Transparency is key to us, so we have included a list at the bottom of this page to show you our corrected prices that will be in place as of July 1.

With that said, to be transparent with you about these changes, we’d like to give you an insight into why we must adjust these prices. Without totally boring you with the nitty-gritty details, we hope this is enough of an insight into why this price adjustment is necessary.

Increased Production Costs

Over the past 4 years, the cost of premium natural ingredients and well-sourced packaging have skyrocketed due to the high demand they now see in many industries. Don’t get us wrong, it’s great to see many other organisations making this mindful shift but we cannot hide from the fact that this inflation has heavily impacted our margins. You may also recall in late 2021, we rebranded and made an extremely important change to how we create and label our product scents - made from 100% natural botanicals and essential oils to ensure that you would have complete transparency on our “Ingredients” list by eliminating the “Fragrance” banner. We have absorbed these price increases for some time.

Increased Cost of Shipping

It has been important to our brand to always offer free shipping options for our online customers, however, the rise in shipping cost both domestically and internationally has put quite a strain on our margins. Given this industry-wide increase, this has become a factor with having goods both delivered to us to create our products, but also to ship out orders domestically and internationally.

Maintaining and Improving Our Customer Experience

Our business has always been operated by a very small team - myself (Callan), running everything from production, packing orders to responding to customers, and my wonderful wife, Kealy, who manages our product labelling. As we continue to grow, it has become increasingly difficult to manage production and day-to-day operations whilst providing the best possible experience for our growing number of customers. To that end, we’re needing to expand the number of hands-on-deck each day to ensure that we can maintain our high level of customer service. This investment will not only allow us to continue being present with our customers but will also ensure that we maintain a high level of consistency with our production.

Giving Back to the Community

Our heart at Bayside is to continue finding ways to give back to our local communities. Whether that be free financial education to vulnerable people or ensuring that our wildlife and coastline is protected from harmful legislation changes. The support we receive from our customers allows us to give a portion of profits directly to these causes.

A Global Pandemic

Trust us, this is absolutely something that we’re sick of talking about, but we cannot hide from the fact that a global pandemic has put a huge financial strain on many industries. We estimate as a direct result, our production costs have risen around 40%. Initially we were expecting this increase to normalise, but the harsh fact is that this is our new normal.

We appreciate each and every customer and wholesaler who has been on this journey with us. From a new business, surviving a global pandemic to becoming a known and loved Aussie brand. We can’t wait to keep doing business with you all.
